Nathalie Ascencios was born in New York in 1971. She studied at Parsons the New School for Design.
Nathalie is a painter, a sculptor and a marionette maker. Her work has appeared in many magazines (The New Yorker, The New York Times, Rolling Stone, etc.). Two of her paintings depicting the literati of the 1920s are displayed permanently (in New York and Louisville). She was the recipient of several awards including a gold medal and two silver medals of the Society of Illustrators and the 1st place in Puppetry in the Henson design competition.
Nathalie's drawing spreads over two pages and represents two characters armed with weapons and facing each other. She got the book from Peter De Seve, and their encounter resulted in a very funny joke : they claimed to have burnt the book and published images of the Sketchtravel book being burnt !
